Department Order Process Information

Billing:

All department orders are billed through campus recharges. You will need to provide a complete BFS Chart of Account string for each order.

Note: TSW can not accept the UC Berkeley BluCard or Travel Card for purchases.

Ways to Order:

For your convenience, the computer store offers several ways to create orders and purchase products.

Order TSW Products Online:

  1. Enter the electronic store buy clicking "Store for Departments" in the NavBar or from the TSW Home Page. Do not Bookmark the page after you enter the store! You need to create a unique cart/session number each time you enter the store.
  2. Locate the items that you wish to purchase and add them to your cart. The ID, Description and price is automatically entered. Totals and tax are calculated at checkout. Note: You may save your cart for later. Retrieve your cart or give the cart information to purchasing staff to finalize the order.
  3. At the view cart screen choose "Checkout UCB" or "Checkout UCOP". This will provide different billing options at the final invoice.
  4. Read and agree to the purchase agreement statement. "Disagree" will end the session.
  5. Provide customer profile, contact and billing and shipping information. These values may be stored for easy retrieval. UCB account stings will be validated before you can generate a purchase order.
  6. Generate the Purchase Order.
  7. Print the Purchase Order, have it signed by someone authorized to purchase equipment and supplies for your department, then fax to 643-6201, or bring it to the store. For security reasons, we cannot accept an order form sent via email.
  8. You will be notified when your complete order is ready for pick up or delivery.

Note that items listed in the web store may not be available as in stock items at the The Scholars Workstation walk-in store.

Build to Order and Quote Options:

Build to Order systems are available from Apple and Dell through links inside the web store.

You can add Apple Build to Order Proposals and Dell E-Quotes to your cart. That option appears at the bottom of the Browse Categories panel.

Order Forms:

It is no longer necessary to use blank TSW order forms. You can add Build to Order systems directly to your web order, print and fax to TSW.

You can still choose to download and print a department order form. Fill out the form completely and fax, mail or carry to the store:

Coming soon - A New Walk In Technology Store for Departments at MLK (ASUC)

Save the date of March 2 - 6, 2009 for our Open House! The benefits of your new walk in Technology Store for Departments are:

  • An on-campus location to try, test, and learn more, before you buy
  • A place to get help with making an informed decision on ordering systems
  • A place for our manufacturer partners to come and be available ongoing - an opportunity to provide more in-depth, targeted technical details about products
  • A convenient on-campus pick up location for those much needed items: laptops, desktop systems, hard drives, memory, specialized software licenses, toner cartridges, and more
  • Orders can be placed by fax, and marked for pickup at this new location, (or delivery as normal)
  • Shorter lines and less hassle since it's just for institutional funds purchases only!
  • Also anticipated: A Repair Pickup/Drop-off location at the Cal Student Stores.

Blank order forms will be available in the showroom (authorized signatures only - required). Or, you can figure out what you want, get a quote, and take the form back to your authorized department buyer to complete the order. If item(s) are not in stock, the sales staff will be prepared to generate a backorder for you, and you will be notified after the items are received. Then come to the store and pickup your order.


Delivery or Pickup

When placing orders, choose Pickup or Delivery. Delivery to departments is free of charge (limited to one delivery address per order).

Your department copy of the invoice is issued at time of delivery -- this copy should be forwarded to your department's accounting contact.


Pickup

Orders can be picked up at our current administrative office location at 2484 Shattuck Ave by appointment.

We will phone you when your order is processed and ready for pickup. Please do not attempt pickup until you are contacted.

Please bring a copy of your order and a valid UCB staff/faculty photo ID.
